Choosing the right contractor is never easy, but hiring Steve and the N2 Design team was one of the best decisions we made as homeowners. From the very beginning, Steve took the time to truly listen and ask the right questions, making sure he fully understood our vision and goals from the start. We hired them for a large-scale renovation of our West Seattle home, a 700+ sq ft deck addition, exterior facelift, basement bedroom upgrade, and much more; they exceeded our expectations at every turn. Their craftsmanship is on another level. Every detail was accounted for, all work was up to code, and our structural engineer even noted that the precision Steve's team brought is rarely seen on residential projects. I also want to highlight a situation that really exemplifies Steve's expertise and foresight. While adding a window to the basement bedroom, Steve identified that adding excavation and concrete retaining wall work to the scope would save us siignificant time and money down the road if addressed now. He took the time to clearly explain the reasoning, walked us through our options, and presented honest tradeoffs so we could make an informed decision. While it did extend the timeline and increase the overall cost, it was ultimately the right call, and we're glad Steve had the knowledge and integrity to bring it to our attention rather than simply complete the original scope and move on. Communication was seamless throughout the entire project. Steve keeps you informed every step of the way with regular status updates, transparent cost breakdowns, and honest conversations about any changes to scope or budget. What stood out was his ability to really listen during those conversations. Steve asked thoughtful questions, took our constraints seriously, and never made us feel like changes were an inconvenience. He also worked effortlessly alongside our architect and structural engineer, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. What really sets N2 Design apart is their ability to anticipate problems before they arise and guide you toward decisions that serve your long-term interests. They identified gaps in our plans early, presented options, and delivered solutions that respected our budget without cutting corners on quality. As long as my wife and I remain in the Seattle area, Steve and N2 Design are the only team we will trust with our home, and we recommend them without hesitation.
